SO... THIS HAPPENED 03/15/2014 7 Comments Hey friends! Remember that time underscores disappeared off the face of CCC chat, just like how flight MH730 disappeared off the face of the Earth? (No? Too soon?).    In one of the recent updates, underscores turned into empty spaces in chat, bringing a lot of confusion into our everyday conversations in this virtual world; making it particularly awkward for players who use emoticons which involve the use of underscores. A simple "o_o" could be misinterpreted for an "o o", in which case these two things have completely different meanings. By that, I mean "o_o" often implies confusion, whereas "o o" is often inferred to as interest or acceptance. Yeah, ok, what of it? Nothing, really. I'm just trying to over-exaggerate the importance of underscores on the internet. Don't mind me. Now, onto the story I want to share! Well, just like how emoticons can be misinterpreted in chat, players can be mistaken too; like what happened in the pictures above. *fangirls* OMG Matt talked to me! OMG Matt called me 'love'! *fangirls*. No. _Matt_ talked to me. _Matt_ called me 'love'. NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH _Matt_! lolz. After my recovery from a fit of "OMGs" and laughter, I asked _Matt_ about his name and if he knew who Matt is; to which he responded "Matt is my real name" (I call SUSPENSION FOR REVEALING PERSONAL INFO! Just kidding, d00ds!) and said that he has heard of Matt and has had 5 people mistake him for Matt. With all that said, do you miss underscores? I've always been curious about what happens when you delete the +500 chest from your inventory. For those of you who don't know what the +500 chest is, it's basically a chest you can purchase from CCCMart to increase your inventory space from 500 spaces to 1000 spaces. There is no need to place the chest on your lot as purchasing the chest for 50,000c will automatically add 500 extra slots in your inventory. So, what I want to know is, if I delete the +500 chest from my inventory, will 500 of my items be deleted (assuming I have 1000 items) or was the extra 500 inventory space added to my account, so no items will be deleted? I logged into CCC to find myself surrounded by stick thin and overweight players! I found it quite hilarious tbh. Like, how can you not chuckle at the scene below?!   As you can see, the weight scale was implemented earlier today while I was still snoozing away! I really love the diversity of avatars I'm seeing already and it's a nice addition to CCC. I know a lot of people have been wanting this for a really long time and it's now here! This new weight scale is already proving to be a lot of fun and we can even adjust the weight of pets as well. Loving it! On a completely unrelated note, I also noticed a change in font colour when you type in chat and click to see your sales. No biggie but I wonder if it will revert back to its original colour soon because that seems to happen a lot with fonts, eh? Anyone wanna bet? lolz, jk d00ds! There's been a lot of talk on the forums for months about new avatar builders and finally we have proof that this may just be the case. Soon to come to Chit Chat City may be an option to adjust the width of avatars! Matt's been working on adding an option to change the shape of avatars and here's a sneak peek of a "thin" avatar: There is also an option to make your avatar wide (just imagine the above avatar with broad shoulders). Basically, in the snapshots we've seen, the head remains the same size but you can play around with the width of the avatar. I'm looking forward to this addition; I think it will make building avatars a lot more versatile and opens up a lot of possibilities for avatar creators. There's been no confirmation as to whether or not this scale will definitely be implemented and when; but fingers crossed this does go ahead! Chit Chat City along with this blog have not been our priorities as of late; not that they ever were but we really haven't been as involved with CCC and the blog as we were say, only a few months ago. I say "our" because I speak on behalf of Arden as well who is still currently too busy to tend to CCC or this blog. You may have noticed our absence on CCC; with our lack of new builds, Arden logging in a couple of times a month and my tendency to "AFK" while logged into CCC. Responsibilities in real life have really taken away a lot of our play time recently with school, college/university (are they the same thing? IDEK) and work starting up again now that Summer break is over. So what does this mean for the blog? We will still be posting but the posts will be very sporadic as there's no telling how busy things will get and we are considering hiring more contributors as well to try and bring out more, refreshing content (apply if you're interested). I personally feel that I will have a lot more free time; with my current schedule being a lot less busy than it has been the last two months. As for Arden, I think she is still quite busy and will be for quite some time... That said, a few of you guys suggested that CCCReview do a Questions and Answers segment and I figured that this would be a great addition to the blog; particularly with the amount of questions I have been getting about new collections, builds, and Arden. So, if you would like to know something, leave your question in the comments below or send us a question using the CONTACT form! Please respect that everyone has different opinions and interpretations on what makes a good contest entry for this theme.  cece24680 TOTAL SCORE: 37/50 Judge 1 Judge 2 Judge 3 Judge 4 Judge 5 7.5/10 Clothing on both avatars are realistic and wearable in real life. I like the shading but it is overdone in some places. I like the detailing on the clothing and hair. 8/10 Individually, I think the avis look great and have good shading. In terms of the Valentine's day, I don't quite see the relation. 7/10 I love this outfit. I am just not a fan of the idea of "hipster". I don't think it relates much to the theme. I think what cece is thinking is that a little red will make her avatar look valentine worthy. Also, I have said some avatars are too alike but these avatars are too different. They don't relate to each other in any way. 8.5/10 The outfit is really good and detailed! 6/10 Really awesome, but you could have done the faces better because the face seems to be sad. There is room for improvement with the faces (e.g. the detailing in the eyes for the girl avi). 8/10 I don't feel this outfit is exactly creative. this could be an everyday outfit. However, it is cute and nicely shaded. I could wear it now and people wouldn't say "I love your Valentine's outfit". 8/10 The clothes are really detailed and shading is well done. 7.5/10 Really nice! The way you shade your avis is very unique and the anime-style is cute. 10/10 I LOVE this outfit. I love the concept. The only minor detail is that it doesn't use too many valentine colors. But to me, this is the most creative thing I have seen so far. I love this so much and the dress is so creative. It has a good relation and very nice shading. Really cool idea! The avatars are a tad small but you can still see the shading efforts. Overall, these avatars are very cute.  10/10 I think this outfit is really pretty. You can so tell it's Valentines and they are together. You can't see the details because of the smallness but if you look close enough, you can see so many. 7/10 Nice shading on the clothes and hair. 5/10 Those 2 avatars are really nice but they are kind of too small. I think the eyes are a tad scary and too similar to each other, making them look a bit like brother/sister. 6/10 I like how it is shaded at the top but it doesn't look nice when it isn't shaded much on the bottom. I don't think these avatars relate much to the theme. 6/10 The clothes are cute but the eyes could be improved. 7/10 Awesome work! Everything is nice but the eyes are kind of abnormal. I really like the eyes you've created on the boy and girl. The avis could do with a bit more shading and highlighting on the clothes and hair. 10/10 These outfits are so alike but so unlike. You can tell they are together. It was very creative to put the rose in his mouth. There wasn't too much shading going on but I love that there are many details. 6/10 I like the idea, but you could improve on shading and color selection. 5/10 Good job but you could have made a different type of avatars, It is kind of too white. Matt has released a new builder for Valentine's Day! Unfortunately it isn't the rotating heart builder that .Redskull. suggested but still, it's a Valentines builder. My psychic ability tells me that people are going to come up with all these "Chanel" designs because for some reason, CCC players are obsessed with the Chanel logo. Really though, what's with all the Chanel creations lately... ya'll are going overkill with it! Seriously, all people do is make plain items and then put the Chanel logo on. Guys, chill with the Chanel. I don't know about you guys, but I don't really find this builder all that exciting. You could create this using the floor or egg builder but I guess if you aren't good at 3D drawing then this makes it all a lot easier. So yay! Also, I assume this builder is limited edition so make the most of it while you can I guess. What are your thoughts on this builder?! Posted by Arden 9 Comments REALLY, NOW? 01/27/2014 24 Comments Hi friends! Today, I came across a really rude signpost which just got on my nerves so much that I decided it's time for another rant! This rant is going to be about people who fail to take responsibility for their own actions and I am going to focus on one Drama Queen specifically. A little bit of background info before we begin: This player replicated Kino's first floor and some of the items he sells (Valentine's Day items) and when we approached her, she denied it (no surprise there, eh?). However it was blatantly obvious that she copied as the items she sold were of the same design and the placement of the products was also exact... so I don't know who she was trying to fool! And as we do with all copiers, Arden and I approached the player and tried to straighten things out. HA! I know that sounds intimidating but it honestly isn't! Everything we said was within CCC Rules and we didn't force the player into doing anything (since copying isn't against the rules). We simply tried to reason with her and what she decided to do with our advice was entirely up to her. We explained that copying is not against the rules but that the things we do also revolve around principle and having respect for others; telling her what she did was unfair to Kino as he put a lot of time and effort into making his shop and items. Naturally, she was not very happy with this, claiming it took her 9 days to make her lot look like that. She obviously didn't care about the effort Kino put into his work, so we focused our advice more on how copying would affect her personally; stating that copying would only limit her creativity and ruin her reputation, and that she should look at past CCC copiers as examples (they've either quit, get a lot of hate, tried to move past their copying ways but are having a hard time getting rid of the "copier" label). We ended the conversation by encouraging her to have more confidence in her own creativity, and asked her to take our advice into consideration, reminding her that whether or not she changes is not our problem, but her responsibility alone. I returned to the lot this morning and was glad to see that she had changed her lot... well, some of it anyway (she still sells the items she copied). That's a start, eh? But just as my respect for this player began to sprout, I opened one of her signposts and found this: Like, what the actual crap! Are you forrealz? Why are you even targeting Arden? You shouldn't be blaming Arden for people "hating" you for copying. It is not her fault at all; the negativity you may have received from others was the consequence ofyour own selfishness and surely you would've expected it, no? If anything, you should be thankful that she encouraged you to change. If it weren't for her, you would still be a copier and even more people would "hate" you... it's not fair for you to place any blame on someone who simply gave you advice. She didn't FORCE you to do anything. You brought it upon yourself by deciding to copy in the first place and you should learn to take responsibility for your own actions. If you do something, you face the consequences. *facepalm x 902398123891238283*. Finally, I am glad that you are out of Top Pop Shop . I have no idea what Top Pop Shop is but if you copy, I honestly don't think you deserve to be a top store on CCC at all. This isn't to say you don't ever deserve to be a top shop because everyone deserves a chance to make amends (in most cases at least). I think all contests should be promoting originality and creativity and copying just doesn't cut the line (so props to the host of that contest for encouraging that)! Let me share with you a typical conversation of mine on CCC: Randomperson: FluffyUnicorn: Randomperson: FluffyUnicorn: Randomperson: FluffyUnicorn: Fluffy! Are you a mod? No. Oh, do you know any mods online?! Why? What's your problem? Well a girl is saying mean things like I am ugly and I pee my pants. Block them. So you're probably thinking; why didn't Fluffy just give Randomperson the name of a mod? Well before we even delve into that, let's take a look at two other things wrong about this conversation. The first being Randomperson did not greet Fluffy and the second being the fact that Randomperson has requested assistance from a mod because someone is saying "mean things". Prepare yourselves for a brief lecture on the infamous BLOCK button. Sometimes in reality you can't escape bullies but in a virtual world, that's one of the perks. If someone is verbally abusing you, you can easily avoid that by using the block button; and that you should be grateful for, because you can't do that in reality. You're welcome. That said, I really don't understand why some people choose to get moderators involved in even the smallest of matters. This is exactly why I always ask "Why? What's your problem" before informing a moderator. As nice as moderators may be, I know they don't appreciate being dragged into petty little dramas which can end by the simple click of the block button. Matt didn't hire them to be your personal body guards so stop treating them like that. Have some understanding; realise that moderators are busy a lot of the time and they play CCC to have fun as well. Of course, if you still feel the need for a personal body guard, then by all means, go hire one. I ain't judging... in fact, I recommend Finnick! ;) HAHAHAH jokes bro. Alright, so you have the option of ignoring mean people, or you if you're like me and only like to use the block button on Guests only (lulz), you have the other option where you go and have fun with the perpetrator! And by that, I mean play along with them. If someone says "you suck", ask them for a straw! If someone calls you ugly or a freak, put on a troll avatar and say "ikr :'("! If someone says you pee your pants, ask them to lick it up for ya (jokes, don't do that)! If someone disses your style or your creations, tell them "Oh, I'm sorry I make things for my own enjoyment rather than yours. Oops, how selfish of me. Oh well, too bad, so sad!". These are pretty bad examples, but who cares! My point is that if you don't want to use the block button, don't fight fire with fire. Instead, show them that their words mean nothing to you. Whatever you do, just don't say mean things back because then you're just as bad as the other side. Be resilient, yet assertive. After all, why should you let them have all the fun, eh? ;) Of the two suggested options I gave, ignoring mean comments will always win and is the more mature of the options. However, if you're like me and love making it awkward for the opposing side, then go ahead! There will always be players on CCC who are highly insensitive of other's emotions, condescending and may naturally be sadists; but don't let them ruin your fun! KNIGHT IS A CHICK!!!!! Weird, right? Wait, you already knew? Well I am going to run my mouth anyway! So after this extremely shocking discovery, I embarked on an investigation as to why Knight left. Well, a trustworthy source claims that Knight left because of college. Well her classes will be over in a year or so, then after that she could possibly return as a regular player!  Currently, Knight has a new account of the same name which was made by a close friend and she sometimes logs on. So we will soon be able to enjoy the lovely avatars and company of the woman, but until then you'll have to make-do with Knight's museum of avatars.  If that isn't enough for ya, she also has a child who plays CCC!!!! Hey, look, finally I can make use of the Guest feature, eh? Just kidding; logging in as Guest doesn't work either because you can't read or accept the terms and conditions and the screen is black. Well, at least I was able to see there were active players in Shopping City? IDEK. lol. Nope, no solutions as of yet. Logging in from another browser won't work, neither will restarting your modem or computer, or clearing your history, or cache or whatever else people always recommend doing. Server side problem. My newb days did not involve socialising, or creating, or any of the sorts; instead, I would just drive around the cities on my purple scooter and explore the various lots Chit Chat City had to offer. At one point, I entered a white building in Shopping City; quite empty on the first floor (from memory), but I was quite taken aback by what stood before me (or rather, what appeared on my computer screen) on the second or third floor. Rows of posters of different paintings filled the room in a time lapse formation; like nothing else I'd ever seen on Chit Chat City. My biggest regret then however, was probably exiting my browser without purchasing any of the masterpieces to have the creator's name or taking note of the coordinates (and even today, I still make that same mistake). I re-logged later that night and in hopes of returning to that store, I messaged my friends for the name of the person "who has a museum with all these realistic paintings". I mean, surely the owner of that property would be well-known, right? Wrong. No one knew who I was talking about. Arden, Dancel and I eventually decided to drive through all of Shopping City, trying to find that one lot but sadly, to no avail. It wasn't until October that I was reunited with that store, but by then, the museum was no longer there. As the store grew in popularity, a lot of people thought that the posters and shop turtles were not painted but instead uploaded because they boasted such realism that it was impossible to have been created on Chit Chat City! However, it made me feel good when I could tell them that Ree did paint them and that I knew because I'd seen the timelines. Speaking of parties, the CCCReview Christmas Party was held a few days before Christmas at CCCReview headquarters and the turn out was great. We would like to thank everyone for attending our very first Christmas party and we hope that you all had a blast! We had also announced the results of the CCCReview Masterchef contest at the party, but for those of you who'd missed it, here's a recap! We began with the judge's voting whereby each judge revealed their favourite entry and gave their critique. Each vote from a judge had a value of +5 and unfortunately Dokbua was not available on the day. However, we had a replacement judge (Dancel) step in. Here's what the judges (Arden, Dancel, FluffyUnicorn, Mrs_Claus, M.Vignesh) had to say:  "I vote Keigh. The combination of dishes would go well in real life" "AlifAufa bcos I like how he has designed the food" "My vote goes to Keigh as I believe his entry is really detailed and his dishes really capture the essence of Christmas" "My favourite is AlifAufa's food. We're still on break but I guess I will just sneak in a little post which may or may not be useful to you. Lamp posts have been in Chit Chat City for who knows how long, but I have only noticed them recently; mainly because I have a lamp post on every corner of my lot after relocating - what an eyesore! What bothered me even more was the fact that I couldn't remove them and neither could moderators. Or so we thought... It turns out, you can actually delete them! Just today, I received a personal message from Dancel saying he reset his lot and 2 of his lamp posts disappeared! So there we have it, you can't delete them under build-mode, but you can change the number of lamp posts you have by resetting your lot. A huge thank you to Dancel for the help! He's a helpful and friendly moderator on CCC so don't be afraid to say Hi to him if you see him around! What does this mean for my newly renovated lot? Well, it looks like I'm going to have to deal with having an excessive amount of signposts because I ain't resetting nothing. O hale no. It'd take me forever to remake Maze Run and put out my items on shopblocks! Yeah, next time you decide to renovate, make sure you're happy with the number of lamp postsbefore you begin building. So, back to the fat man in a red suit. Since the beginning of time people have been wasting their breath over arguments on whether or not Santa is real. You have these nice little innocent kids liking presents under the tree brought by a 5 billion year old jolly guy once every year and that's great! But nah, it can't be like that; you have to have these haters come along and ruin everything making kids believe he is as fake as a 100 dollar bill at a garage sale. It's not enough to have kids be happy; you always have to have that one comment "SANTA ISN'T REAL! HE'S A CREEPY STALKER SO GROW UP!!". Seriously, what is wrong with a giant cookie eater sneaking into your house while you're totally defenceless? Ok, well that would be weird if he didn't actually leave any presents I guess... Now I don't know how, but some kids put up a pretty good argument against Santa Claus's existence. For example "It would be physically impossible for that big, fat guy to fit through the chimney" or "To travel all around the world in one night, he would have to travel at the speed of light, which is impossible" and in Santa's defence, someone would say "He's real!". By that point, the  non-belieber, ahm non-believer I should say, replies "Oh yeah, why?" only to be met by the winning response from the defender "Because shut up, that's why!". See what I mean? About a week ago I started a discussion on the forums site about experiencing issues with the template tool and I know quite a few of you have experienced this too, and may even still be experiencing this. After I'd explained to him what I'd been doing, I am pretty sure he facepalmed in real life. I mean, you're probably facepalming at me right now. Basically all you have to do is click a random builder (any builder other than the one you need), then click the builder you actually want to use, and then click your template. I get it - ya'll are a bunch of hipsters. Just kidding. You just want some fresh content, which is understandable. Before starting this post, I took some time to consider whether or not I should post about Fluttershy's new store because first off, I was feeling rather lazy and second of all, I figured that most of you would have seen more than enough of her new collection already. I don't want to bore you with stuff you've seen over and over again but seriously... Fluttershy just never fails to amaze me. What can I say? Love her or hate her; you can't deny the fact that her avatars are some of the best (if not,the best) avatars in Chit Chat City. Not only that, but her store layout is always mesmerising and boasts great realism. Fluttershy's Holiday 2013 Collection was inspired by the 2013 Holiday collections of real life fashion labels Dolce & Gabbana and Alexander McQueen. This is reflected in the collection's baroque-girl, vintage vibes and Fluttershy's use of gold and red. I am a huge fan of the gold detailing and embellishment on the outfits, as well as the various hairstyles this collection offers. I wasn't surprised to see a load of players flocking around her lot and the chat was flooded as though it was Shopping City Centre! The shop only looks empty in the image below because I blocked everyone to take the screenshot, lol.  More and more players will try to copy Fluttershy's creations with those signature eyes and that mouth, but in the end, Fluttershy avis will come out on top. There's definitely more to her avatars than just "that face" - her creations are detailed and clean, and she is always experimenting with new creative styles. It seems that avatar prices are to remain at 200c per publish despite the flood of angry CCC players and protests. Many of us were curious as to why a price was placed on creating avatars and a lot of my conversations on CCC lately have dwelt on this topic. I hypothesised that the reason for the price was to do with saving memory on the servers and I was right (no surprise there, I should hope ;)). HAHAHA, just kidding guys; I am not always right. Anyways, all cockiness aside, another one of my reasons was to hopefully encourage more players to buy credits using real life money but I am a poor student... all dem school fees doe. Other reasons players proposed were related to balancing prices between avatar and object building. These are all pretty legit reasons if I say so myself. Earlier today, Matt came out with a statement supporting his reasons for avatar builder prices. I guess this also shows that his standing on the avatar pricing is firm so it's really unlikely that he will revert the costs of making an avatar, despite all the defiance and criticism.  The only thing I don't quite agree with is how Matt said that there are "many ways to quickly earn enough credits". Actually, Matt is right when he says that there are many ways to earn credits in the short term (puppy quests, fishing *DO NOT RECOMMEND*, zombie killing *DO NOT RECOMMEND*) and in the long term (shop, tomatoes, bank). However, these are boring and if we have to keep doing these to earn credits, the game will become boring. I play this game for fun and I feel like I am wasting a lot of time when I am doing puppy quests (zzz... boring). Eh, I don't even bother with zombie killing or fishing and I've explained why in previous posts (feel free to check those out). It seems as though Matt really wants everyone to kill zombies or go fishing because in the previous major update, he added achievements for fishing and zombie killing and now he has raised prices of creating items which will mean more zombie killing and fishing amongst CCC players. Y U DO DIS?!?! Matt, please hear us out; we know there are lots of ways to earn credits quickly but zombie killing, fishing and puppy quests are too repetitive and boring. I will also use this opportunity to rant about the bank. I personally love the bank but a lot of players don't even know how to use it, lol. Also, the bank has been glitched for months now! Object Factory has had no variation for months and even though I, along with many of my friends, have reported the bug, we are yet to see variations in the value of the Object Factory shares. It's going to be really tough for New Players especially... like, at least the majority of us who are not new have credits to live off. New Players will now have to spend more time earning credits through tedious methods in order to have enough credits to do any of the fun stuff. Oh goodness, there are going to be more people asking for donations than ever before too! Eurgh, credits, credits, credits - CCC life is so expensive! You can't do anything if you don't have credits anymore! I forgot to mention that another way of earning credits is the Daily Wheel or whatever it's called. However this seems to be really stingy nowadays. I remember when I used to win 10,000c almost everyday and now I get (at most) 500c. I don't know the mechanism behind the Daily Wheel; people say it is "random" but I highly doubt that. Yeah well, that's all I have to say for now. So before I logged onto Chit Chat City today, some new news regarding CCC Builders caught my attention. Considering how heavily this game revolves around building, naturally, I anticipated the update to be either really great or just awful for us. After skimming through the post, I jumped into the game, opened my builder and was so excited to find that I could access all builders (besides the door builder - you need to go to the Object Factory to create a door) from the comfort of my own home. I know that makes me sound really lazy but honestly, when you're designing something that requires more than one part, you've got to keep checking that the parts align and it gets quite tedious because: Another aspect of this new update is the change in pricing. Sure, most builders cost less but... 200 CREDITS PER AVATAR!?!?! No more troll avatars for me then... i cri evrytiem. Even though I am not an avid avatar creator, I think 200 credits is a lot because you have to constantly publish your work to check the details, and avatars are much harder to sell. Additionally, part of the fun of joining Chit Chat City was creating your own avatar. However, New Players won't be able to have fun experimenting with making their own avatars because they're better off paying 200c for an existing avatar that looks pro, rather than paying 200c for one that looks newb. I assume that less people will try to create their own avatars as they will begin to have this train of thought "why spend over 200 credits to try and make my own avatar when I can just buy a Fluttershy avi for 250c" or something along those lines. Will avatar creators raise their prices? They could but I don't think that would benefit them because it will just mean less sales. After all, we can only wear one avatar at a time. This is what I mean by it is much harder to sell. People tend not to keep changing their avatars whereas players buy furniture and decor all the time to make their homes and shops appealing. I don't doubt that there'll be some existing avatar creators with low sales who will just stop making avatars altogether because they are being discouraged by the idea of losing credits. I prefer a free avatar builder... 200 credits an avatar really takes the fun out of making avatars. However, avatar pricing aside, I am overall quite please with this new update. As most of us already know, there is a CCC Christmas contest running up until the 23rd of December. In order to participate in this contest, players must make their lots Christmas themed and place the "Contestant" sign on their lot. The contest system has also changed where winners of the previous contest are unable to participate in the following contest. Sure, this new system gives others more of a chance at being in the top 3 but if people just voted fairly in the first place, there wouldn't have been changes to the rules to exclude previous contest winners. Anyways, the prizes of this contest are: 1st place: 100,000 credits and a special house trophy! 2nd place: 50,000 credits! 3rd place: 25,000 credits! FluffyUnicorn's Suggestions/ How to get FluffyUnicorn's votes: Make your first floor Christmas themed and eye-catching I am lazy and won't bother checking to see if your 2nd or 3rd floors are Christmas-themed if your 1st floor isn't Christmas-themed (I hope that makes sense). Make sure your doors are open It's annoying when you can't get a full view of the Christmas-themed lot because the contesant left the door closed... Don't live in Dark City It still glitches for me so if you live in Dark City, you won't be getting my vote. Sorry.  Put the contestant sign on every level Don't just put it on the first floor in case people don't return to the first floor after viewing your lot Have themes for each level of your property (e.g. White Christmas, Candy Christmas, Santa's workshop) Lots with direction are more attractive then lots randomly decorated in Christmas goodies. If you're mindlessly putting Christmas decor everywhere, it looks messy. Having themes also makes your lot more original and shows you actually put thought into building. Don't suck up to me for votes The numbers of people who suddenly turn into my "BFF" is ridiculous. A lot of people may fall for your "affection" butno, not me, not I (props to you if you know this reference ;D). "Hi, if you're not busy, would you be willing to check out my lot? I decorated it for the Christmas contest!" is better than "OMG MY BFF FLUFFY REMEMBER WHEN WE USED TO TALK ALL THE TIME OMG YEAH OMGOMGOMG!!!! plz vote". No, ok? No.  Don't make (empty) promisesIt annoys me when people say "if I come in top 3, I will make everything free for a month!!!!!". This strategy doesn't even work because if you sell bad stuff, no one cares if it's free and if you sell good stuff, you'd be losing more money than you won (ofc, if you're not in it for the money then #noregrets). Likewise, I never vote for people who are like "if I don't come in top 3, I am quitting!!!!" because I secretly think you should quit if you're going to act like that. It's poor sportsmanship and I guess this also goes under sucking up. Arden's suggestions/ How to get Arden's votes: Choose a themeIf you are having trouble decorating your house, starting would a theme would be very helpful. Once you have decided on a theme, finding furniture would be easy, since you know what you're looking for. Example themes are: The North Pole, Gingerbread House, Christmas Carols venue, Bethlehem etc. Don't copy This one should be obvious. If there are 50 of the same houses, I will be bored and you won't get my vote. Plus, everyone will hate you for copying... Don't force other players to vote for you I get really annoyed when people tell me to vote for them. Just because you are my friend, fan or someone popular, it doesn't mean you should force people into voting for you. And if you are telling people you're going to quit if you don't win, well I hope you quit; we don't want people like you on this game anyway.  Make it BIG!Go all out! Use up your 2nd and 3rd floors!  How to win: Don't follow any of Arden's or FluffyUnicorn's suggestions Sure you would have a great entry but your chances of winning still wouldn't be so great. Suck up to people As much as we hate suck-ups, a lot of people on CCC will blindly accept what you say. Be popular/famous and use your popularity to take advantage of your ''fans'' Don't even worry about putting effort into your entry! If you're famous, then you've pretty much got it in the bag. As wrong as this strategy is, if you want to win, this is what you have to do... and it works!  There are a lot of hardcore fan-girls/boys on this game who will do whatever popular/famous people say. Well, that's enough cynicism for now, lol. So why did we just mock a portion of players of CCC? Well, Matt recently revealed the top 10 and as usual, some of the results are not particularly reflective of the creativity. This just shows that a lot of people are gullible and vulnerable (which is understandable seeing as the majority of players are really young). If the winner ends up being someone who wins just because they are "famous", don't blame them completely. We have read a lot of comments about CCC contest winners on the CCC forum and a lot of people tend to single out famous players and blame them for "always winning" but honestly, it's really more the fault of the voters. You know, Matt changed the contest system because he really wants the contest to be as fair as possible, so do we and I am sure most of you want this as well. So what we did was drive around CCC and created a list of lots we personally think you should check out.  Mlove14 Mlove has gone all out with her entry with every level completely decorated! We love the features she's gone with including the gift-wrapping centre and ice-rink! Twinkie Twinkie has turned a regular house into a Christmas themed one. We love the simple, realistic layout of her first floor and on the second floor she has a gift-making centre, complete with a gift-making machine and a conveyor belt! Guests are a nuisance and a lot of people use this feature for the wrong reason e.g. to harass players, to spy, to break in/glitch through walls anonymously to tick people off. They are a burden to existing Chit Chat City players. Guests are particularly frustrating when I am building and trying to focus on new creations. But no, I can't focus and pay attention to important details because freaking guest is distracting me. You're probably thinking "err Fluffy, there is a freaking block button for a reason" and yeah, I do block them. But for some reason it seems like once they relog, they have a new ID or something because I have to block them again. Ain't nobody got time fo dat. Well, Guest on the other hand seems to have a lot of time. Why are you such try-hards? Do you pride yourself on being able to glitch into homes anonymously? Do you honestly want some kind of an award for this??? It's sad and pathetic, yet you still do it. What's even more pathetic is when you know who Guest is and they ask you why you ignore them when they're on their real account. Huh, you're joking right? As if I am going to associate myself with someone who has no respect for my personal space. My experiences with rude guests have driven me to the point where I'd much rather the Guest feature be gone. Why is it there in the first place? OK, well I am assuming it was implemented to allow random people to have a taste of what CCC is like... but to be quite honest, I think they would have a more realistic taste of the game if they just created an account. It's not like Guests can do much besides watch, watch, watch, watch... and act as pests. I personally feel that this feature does more harm than good because unfortunately, most people use it for the wrong reasons. But if Matt feels that the Guest feature is necessary, then maybe the Guests should be invisible? At least then you won't be bothered by them as much and if you think about it, Guests are there for attention most of the time; so if you can't see them, they get no attention and won't abuse the feature. But then again, invisible guests in itself has other issues like Guests being able to spy and listen into conversations without us knowing... :/ What do you guys think? I respect CCC moderators all a tonne and I am more than grateful for their efforts in keeping the CCC environment fun and friendly. However, I am not a suck-up either so if someone is doing something incredibly wrong, they better prepare for my wrath as I won't stand there and cheer them on (RUDE PEOPLE = NO). So yeah, this post does address some issues with certain moderators which I am sure most of you are aware of anyway. I love CCC and it's people but if something gets out of hand, I will post about it. If you don't agree with something I say, leave a comment down below and I will kindly reply with a comment explaining why you're wrong. LOL KIDDING. I'm not always right but I am confident in what I believe in and I do think about things deeply before I post them publicly (something most people fail to do). As I was browsing CCC-related blogs today, I stumbled across a post by Derp (post will be linked down below) which made me realise why my suggestion that a rule against copying be introduced may fail; purely because of the fact that there are some untrustworthy moderators who have no clue when copying is an issue and when it is not. I know I said I don't like dwelling on this issue, but what else did I say? I said that this issue would go into dormancy and be brought back up pretty soon. Well, boy was I right. It was actually brought up sooner than I'd expected! The dispute between designers Eli Clare Evans and Alexia Alle has popped up everywhere in the game, in the forums, on blogs. Everywhere. I did happen to address my opinion on this dispute on one of the forum posts so if you're interested, I've added a screenshot! First and foremost, just because Eli has a sitting avatar, it doesn't mean she copied Alexia (seriously, that is the only similarity between both these avatars). Likewise, just because Alexia has avatars with legs using the robe template, it doesn't mean she copied. As I mentioned in the forums, someone started producing 3D furniture from the poster builder... you're not seriously going to accuse people who make 3D furniture from posters of copying, are you? That's just ridiculous. Sure, they're basing their creations around the same concept but they're making their own things, not copying. Eurgh. Some people are so ignorant and really need to work on exercising at least half decent judgement! Anyways, back to Derp's blogpost. So Derp recently posted about Alexia Alle taking advantage of her moderator powers... I was curious, so I did some further investigating and I'd have to say, Derp has made a very good point. I don't think that Alexia made a good move on her part by spreading rumours about Eli being a copier (she even posted on her Facebook page that Eli was a copier... someone should inform Alexia that defamation is a form of bullying). Honestly, you would expect more from a moderator. Using your standing as a moderator to target a regular player is wrong and it makes regular players fear moderators rather than look up to them and respect them. Sure, all moderators make mistakes and they're just people, like us, but some moderators really need to be more responsible and think about their actions, as well as the influence they have on other players, and not take advantage of that. My suggestion was to introduce a rule against copying; whereby players who tried to replicate other players' works would have their replica deleted. However, this whole fiasco between Alexia and Eli has shown that not all moderators can be trusted to carry out this duty. It has shown that some moderators don't have a clue as to when ''copying'' is an issue which is a real shame as this rule could have been a real positive game-changer for most of us.
